Antibiotics Aren’t a Fix. They’re a Delay.
If you were sent home from the ER with antibiotics, the infection is still there. Medication slows it down, but it does not eliminate the source. The only way to actually resolve a dental infection is to treat the tooth. The longer it waits, the more damage it does.

Find Out If You Need Emergency Care
Our dedicated team at Dr. Yvonne E. Beckford DDS, PC is here to ensure your safety and well-being in critical moments. Take our quick 2-minute assessment to find out if you may need urgent assistance or medical attention! We're here to help when it matters most.

The Pain You're Feeling? We Can Fix That Today
You shouldn't have to guess whether it's serious.
Pain is not something to diagnose with a Google search. In 15 minutes with Dr. Beckford, you'll know exactly what is happening, how urgent it is, and what needs to happen next. That clarity alone is worth more than another hour of wondering.

Most dental emergencies start small. Yours did too.
A hairline crack. A filling that felt a little loose. A twinge you ignored for a few weeks. By the time the pain is unbearable, the problem has been building for a while. We can stop it from going any further, but only if you call.

Do any of these sound like you?
You do not need to be bleeding or missing a tooth to qualify for emergency care. If you're experiencing any of the following, contact us now.
The longer these symptoms go untreated, the more complicated and costly the fix becomes. Do not wait to find out.
What the ER won't tell you
The ER can't fix this. We can.
If you are in pain, swollen, or were just sent home from the ER with medication, you are not treated. You are delayed. The ER can prescribe pain medication and antibiotics — they cannot fix the tooth. Every hour you wait, the infection spreads.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is it better to go to the ER or call your office?
For most dental emergencies, calling our office is the faster and more effective route. The ER can help with pain management and infections, but they cannot treat the tooth. You will still need to see a dentist afterward. If you have a broken jaw, facial trauma, or difficulty breathing due to swelling, go to the ER first.
How quickly will I hear back after booking my virtual assessment?
You book a specific time slot through the Calendly link, so there is no waiting for a callback. You will speak directly with Dr. Beckford at your scheduled appointment time.
What happens after my virtual assessment?
Dr. Beckford will give you one of three recommendations: come in for treatment, follow specific at-home care instructions until your scheduled visit, or seek emergency room care if your situation requires it. If you need to come in, we will get you on the schedule immediately.
Is the Virtual Assessment a substitute for an in-office visit?
No. It is a faster way to get clarity and a plan. Dr. Beckford will always recommend an in-person visit when one is needed — and in most emergency cases, one is. The assessment eliminates the guesswork, so you are not sitting at home wondering whether to act.
Is there a cost for the Virtual Assessment?
Yes. The Virtual Emergency Assessment is $125. Given what an untreated dental infection can escalate into — and the cost of an unnecessary ER visit — most patients find it well worth it.
What counts as a dental emergency?
If you are asking, it probably is. Severe pain, swelling, bleeding, a lost restoration, or anything stopping you from eating, sleeping, or functioning normally needs to be seen today — not next week. Call us or book a virtual assessment right now.
Can I come in if I've never been a patient here?
Yes. We see new patients for emergency care every day. No referral, no prior history required. Call us, and we will handle the rest.
What should I do if a tooth gets knocked out?
Pick it up by the crown, not the root. Rinse it gently without scrubbing. Place it back in the socket if you can, or store it in milk. Call us immediately at 770-939-9293. Time is the most critical factor.
What happens if I have a dental abscess?
An abscess will not resolve on its own. Symptoms include throbbing pain, swelling, fever, and a bad taste in your mouth. Without treatment, the infection can spread to surrounding tissue and become a serious medical emergency. Call us immediately or book a virtual assessment today.
Do you offer payment options for emergency care?
Yes. We offer flexible financing so that cost is not a barrier to getting the care you need. Ask our team about available plans when you call.
